Banksia Environmental Foundation

We, The Banksia Environmental Foundation based in Australia, understand that our operations and processes impact both positively and negatively towards the natural, social and economic environments.

Our intention is to manage our actions in such ways as to minimize the negative impacts in these three environments. We recognize that the management of The Banksia Environmental Foundation can have positive long term impacts to social, environmental and economic factors.

In recognition of the above The Banksia Foundation will follow a set of procedures to help us to;

• Identify and engage with our key stakeholders on sustainability issues
• Set sustainability key performance indicators and targets
• Provide the necessary resources and allocate appropriate responsibilities to ensure sustainability of our  actions
• Provide training and build competencies for those significant persons involved in the sustainable management of our organisation.

Our sustainability objectives are;

• To demonstrate best practice in sustainability
• To educate suppliers in the area of sustainability
• To be innovative and offer leadership
• To conform to all aspects of sustainable energy usage
• To abide by a sustainable waste management plan
• To conserve water and resources at all times
• To encourage use of public transport and other sustainable forms of transport
• To minimise travel distances for business at all times through the use of alternatives to travel such as video/teleconferencing technologies
• To provide all our employees and subcontractors with fair and equitable contracts

The Banksia Foundation will provide strategic leadership and vision to ensure sustainability of our day to day operations

Our commitment to sustainable management extends to;

• Addressing the impact the Banksia Environmental Foundation has in all its actions
• The supply chain for all our activities, both product and service providers
• The full life cycle of the activities, from planning, implementation, final evaluation and review
• Maintaining a record of documents and relevant communications with regard to the sustainability of the Banksia Awards Presentation Night.
